Self-test will have three difference program:

1) Open circuit test (VCI box+ main cable + self-test adaptor + AC adaptor). It must have self-test adaptor to be attached. This program is to determine for main cable, vci box and adaptor issue.

2) Short circuit test  (VCI box+ main cable  + AC adaptor). It must be NOT Selt-test adaptor to be attached.The program is to determine for hardware or cable short circuit issue.

3) Self-test  (VCI box+ main cable + AC adaptor). It must be NOT selt-test adaptor to be attached. The program is to determine the main unit communication issue.

We keep updating all latest software. It will increase the storage space. In case you are facing “out of space” issue, please follow next few step to have extension storage in your tablet.

1) Prepare or buy an additional SD card. We recommend to buy 64GB or 128GB SDXC MicroSD card.

*1st Gen F7S, if the capacity over 32GB, you have to format it as NTFS, not default FAT32* 1st Gen F7S are including F7SN, F7SB and F7SG whoever serial number has no R* 

2) Insert your SDHC micro SD card into right side of your scanner SD slot (F7S);

3) To find “data migration program”, the path located on Data Management and Data Migration. The program will help you to move big vehicle database into additional SD card, located at right hand side. 

Left panel is internal storage, on the top, you will see Memory 14.53/21.65G means that you still have 14.53GB space available. 

Right panel is additional TF card storage. You will see TF card: 18.16G/28.82G means that you still have 18.16GB available.

If you run out of internal storage, you can check the item on left panel and move into right panel. 

Pick any bigger storage item, ie. BMW Diag, Audi, VW into right panel. Moving item from left to right will take time, 1GB data will take about 10 minutes. 

When you have enough space in left panel, you need to run update again. 

You receive “Unfortunately, the diagnosis has stopped” when you open FCAR Diagnosis app or start your tablet scanner:

Solution:

1) Go Settings and Click Apps, and uninstall Diagnosis app.

2) Open internet browser in your tablet, go to http://download.fcar.com/ On the website, click on Tab: Download, and find “Diagnosis APK”, click download

3) Once the APK download, run to install.

4) Open Diagnosis app, and go update all necessary package or vehicle database.

5) If the problem still occurs, check if your subscription is still valid, or call our support.

When you receive “Installation error!” under vehicle database update, like screen:

Solution:

1) Go Settings and Click Data Cleaning, and then Start cleaning.

2) Go system settings and check “Automatic date & time” and “Automatic time zone” both On, also check Set date and set time should be your current Date and Time. If not manual change to current.

3) Go back to Update page, to make update again

4) If the problem still occurs, check if your subscription is still valid, or call our support.

FCAR Android tablet software update including five sections: OTA, Application (APK), Extension Package, VCI Box and Vehicle Database:

Before you want to make software update, you have to make sure internet is connected. FCAR tablet will be able to use WiFi or Ethernet. In some case, you need to open browser and type in any public url to verify if your network will be able to access public internet.

1) OTA update: Tab –> Settings –> System Updates

Make sure to have AC adapter to plug into charging in case out of power

If there is new OTA available, it will show new release available

When you check UPDATE, it will show number on UPDATE icon.

2) Application update. If there is new update available, it will show “New Update Found Vxxxx” and update is clickable, just click to update to download application and then you need to install the application. Once installation done, click on Open button to go Update one more time.

3) Extension package update: If there is new update available, it will show “New Update Found Vxxxx” and update is clickable, just click to update

4) VCI Box update: Before check VCI box update, you have to connect VCI Box by bluetooth. If there is new update available, it will show “New Update Found Vxxxx” and update is clickable, just click to update. The VCI box can be power up by AC adaptor or plug into vehicle diagnostic port.

5) Vehicle Database update: If there is new update available, you will see “xx updates found!”, you can click on “Update” to update all vehicles. Also you can pick each vehicle to make one by one update.

If you are just recent purchase the update and still showing “license expired” under vehicle database, you need to open browser and type in http://download.fcar.com/ to download Diagnose APK manually and install on the tablet.

FCAR Tablet has built-in capacity for switch both English and Spanish. Please do the following two steps:

1) Please go Settings and Language to Check on Spanish and Click OK. The system will automatically switch into all Spanish interface.

2) Go to Update to make all vehicle database update.

If the Spanish option is disable, please do following:

1) Go into System Settings, select APP and click on FCAR app (called: Diagnosis), see following screen shot:

2) Click on Clear data

3) Open FCAR diagnosis APP, it will show Language selection, check English and Spanish

5) Repeat the beginning section to switch language and make update.

Go to Settings, select User Info. Click on Edit and then type in Info and save it. But it has to be Wifi connected. 

After the activation process: 1) the timer will be removed; 2) initial subscription will start; 3) Trial expired; 4) Hardware warranty will start

Activation:

Method 1: (Wifi-enable and Internet connected).

When the tablet is Wifi enable and Internet is connected, the activation is as simple as One click on Activate under Settings tab. You must make sure your scanner can access public internet. If you have any internet access limitation, please talk to your IT department. You can open an internet browser from the tablet to try to access any internet URL address, ie google.com.
